So, a lot has happened since the last time I bothered to update this blog. The big news is that Brooke and I are expecting our first child in January! Brooke’s about 20 weeks along, and we just had the ultrasound yesterday. Here’s the “money shot” profile:

The rest of the shots are posted at Flickr.

We got a little bit of snow. Here’s the view out to the deck.

…where is your top, O Christmas Tree?

Our Tree

The Aftermath It’s been about a month and a half since we tied the knot, and we are finally done making the rounds to family and friends. It’s been exhausting but great, great fun at the same time. We’ve had the chance to reconnect with friends and family in Defiance, Cincinnati, and Marietta and be surrounded by wonderful, caring, generous people. Thanks to everyone who shared in our celebration!

Greetings from Maui! Today is the big day!

It turns out our condo in Kihei has free wifi, so you can check out a few pictures as I upload them to our wedding set on Flickr.

 Dirt is dirty.

…pressure-washing the deck!

Remember photo booths? My sister found this the other day. I was probably…seven years old, maybe? Check out the cool Dukes of Hazzard iron-on.

Miniver Cheevy, aka, Camelot

We cleaned out the garage last Sunday, Brooke’s need to purge overcoming my tendency to horde. Turns out I had a surprisingly large amount of worthless crap taking up space, including boxes full of VHS cassettes (among them, every single episode plus all the made-for-TV movies of Babylon 5, which I had faithfully recorded and affixed with custom labels — yes, I am a geek), a Sherwood dual-cassette deck, quite a few slides and negatives, and several other relics of the analog age. I must admit I felt a tinge of regret letting all that stuff go, but the simple truth is, it had all been sitting out there for years, getting musty, utterly neglected.

One gem uncovered in an old binder from my sophomore year at Ohio University was this picture of the guys from “Camelot” (as their house was called), posing as the fictitious band Miniver Cheevy for some journalism project of mine. ROCK.
